I have some questions about using an external flash. I have a sunpak 383 flash and need some help using it with D300.
1. Is it compatable with the 300?
2. What settings do you use with the camera and the flash?
Thanks, Marty

Hey, I just got the 300d and the sunpak 383 today... I shoot manual on both flash and camera. I just follow the directions on the back of the flash and get pretty accurate shots. I usually stop down to like f/8 on the camera when it says to shoot at f/5.6 or f/4 because it seems to overexpose a little. Just take some sample shots and find out what works best for you. Oh and I think its because its a manual flash that I can x-sync to 1/320 instead of only 1/200:)

Here is a shot were it was used as a slave flash (I bounced it off the wall, I think it was shot at 1/200 f/1.8 cant remember)

Sorry if I wasnt able to help.
