Hey everyone. I'm Brandon, new here obviously. I just picked up a Digital Rebel XT a month ago and have been learning slowly what everything does. My friend a few months ago took me and my car out for a little photoshoot to show me the power of an SLR and I was blown away. My old Sony point and shoot was consistently ruining my pictures from all the digital noise and I finally decided to get a nice beginner one. Right now I only have the lens that came with it, but I'll be purchasing the new 55-250mm IS, a tripod and the wired remote in a few weeks. There's so much reading material on here, I probably won't even need to make a post after this. Anyway, thanks for reading. :D

Ditto!!

I didn't think my hobby would exceed $2000 so fast, but it sure did!

That 55-250mm lens looks nice based on the pics I've seen, I think it's a great buy.

As for remotes, I have the wireless RC-1 which only cost me $25 used. It's small and handy.

Thanks for the welcome! That is a lot of money there. I'm only a casual photographer now, but I can see how it catches on so fast. There is a huge racetrack and motorsport complex opening up near me which is another reason I wanted a good camera. I'll have to practice panning shots before it opens. I also wanted to get into taking night shots and I had a quick question about the remotes. Is it true what I heard about the wireless ones not working that well when it is bright out? Should I just get the little wired one instead? Thanks.
