If I shoot a pic in raw (.CR2), process it a bit using Digital Photo Pro (the one that came with the 20 D), save it as a.tif file, open it in PSE, do some more tweeking then save the tif as a .jpg.....................when it gets converted to jpg will it loose any sharpness or anything else?

I hope that made sense.

Depending on how much compression you use, you may lose hardly any at all or a lot. If you save in Maximum quality mode, especially at the 12 setting, most of your details will be intact. However, go to the opposite extreme, to Low quality mode, and you will definitely be able to see the difference. For the most part, if you're going to use the image for posting on the web or emailing to friends, then the Medium setting should suffice. For prints, use the Maximum settng. These are just guidelines. You may need to play around with the quality settings until your get a compromise between the quality and the size of the file that's saved.
