i wake up..its crappy weather but rain holds out..i go out and find a damsell fly,,oh my god..iv never seen them like this before..hes cold..and tame..im getting some great shots..3:1 life size at f/8 and both eyes in focus..im buzzing..took 80 shots..im walking home and on the way i cant believe my luck..a cuckoo bee which looks different to the normall ones iv been shooting lately..its on a purple flower..wow these pics are great..im really buzzing now..cf card full time to go home..put the camera down and do a few things.i see a mants shed so i go for the camera,,dam it cf card is full..right delete the card..they have allready been uploaded..i take some shots..10 mins later im on the computer..then it clicks...SHHHHIIIIITTTTTT i didnt upload todays pics..oh man im so depressed now..what a macro day from hell. :evil:

well i was lucky..i went back there after it was raining and found 2 more..1 that is very pretty..im going to upload them now before i delete the,.:P:

get a Sandisk 4GB card - comes with recovery software and loads of memory.

ok..lucky for me i went back out and got some great shots so the day wasnt a complete waste..how u doing toby..shot any thing good lately..have u ever shot damselflies before..if so link?

I'm sure we have all done the same, and can share your anger/pain.

I have multiple cards so that when I fill one up I replace it with another empty one. The full one can then remain in the pc until I am sure I have copied them off.

i only have 1 card to my name.im saving every penny for 40d..:).but because im going to the bee keepers hive on monday il need to get a 4gb card in the next couple days..

shot loads of damsels but not since getting the MPE, here's one from the archives. Probably concentrate on natural light ones this summer. Lighting looks a tad harsh.

u need a new monitor if u think that shot is harsh..i have a bad ass Samsung one its all calibrated and that shot u posted looks spot on..i hate natural light..fill flash is good tho.when ever i try to shoot natural light when suns out it looks crap..am i doing something wrong..when is it best to shoot natural light shoots?
