Antonelli,Uarts and more.... HELP!

Hi im soon to be a high school senior and have fallen in love with photography. I want to pursue it as a career. I have been looking into all the photography institutes and art schools in and around Philadelphia. I have herd a lot of good and bad things about antonelli. I would love to hear anything and everything you would like to share on schools in this area. I also will be working on building a portfolio this summer. I really dont know how I compare to other students applying to these schools at all. If you would please comment on my flickr images below. Thanks so much in advance.

I'm also a senior in high school. I'm not too sure if i want to go to school for photography though...

What i would recommend is that you just go to the college and see what it's like. Most art schools are very friendly and let you go around the school and talk to other students. See what they like, and don't like.

Also, for most photography schools, it's not just about photography. It's about art. So you'll more than likely be required to take alot of other art classes; drawing, painting, pottery, etc...

At least that's what i learned when i went looking at schools that offer photography in my area.

Why not think about getting a BFA? Bachelor's of Fine Arts sounds like a good step. You can also check out other photography schools, like Brooks Institute in California, or even my own school in Austin, Austin Community College. We have a great program here, and you can play with all kinds of equipment and learn all kinds of photography, from fashion, wedding, commercial, fine art - it's really been a beneficial experience for me.

Iv herd alot of bad things about brooks and Im not looking to go that far. I will be visiting schools soon.

MOST of the time, these smalll business college are not accreditable...most major universities (and jr. colleges) will not accept the credits earned from them. Check into a community college...in most cases, they are cheaper (or the same price) as a business college, and if you decide to go to a university later, you can transfer your credits earned.
