i'm not a fan of the conversion or alignment of number one, but i do like the subject matter. the lines of the subject pulls you into the photo and that's always a good characteristic in a shot. :)

i really enjoy the conversion of number two. for some reason i don't find myself missing the lack of midtones and find that the conversion is rather complimentary to what would normally be a mundane subject. [bark]

as far as number three is concerned, i'm not sure how i feel. naturally, i find myself wishing the right side was more in-focus, but oh well. the composition is also somewhat odd, but then again, these are (as you said) "random abstracts."

I agree, tbh, all the shots above were heading for the recycling bin...but then i had a play, and now there better lol!
1) Quite like one, however it is not centred, mainly because to the left was trees, which didn't fit the picture, so they were cropped out

3) I really do with the section to the bottom left was also in focus
