butterfly on marigold

this is from outside on the marigold in the tomato patch. dont know the name but it has great colors i missed the outside of the wings which looked better imo though it was really windy.

Good capture- looks similar to a painted lady we get here.

Oh yes, this is an American painted lady I think. First time I've seen one posted here, and a nice pic too. Saturation a bit high maybe?

thanks for the possible i.d ill look into it. oh and this is right out of the camera pretty much, only resize and slight sharpen. those marigolds sure are colorful.
