hey all - looking for opinions on this as a fine art print... would you hang this on your wall?

Yes......but, there's always a but. I'm not sure that I like the conversion. It has deep blacks and almost white but it seems to lack in mid tone contrast. It's rather busy and the mid tone kinda just blends all together. Some of that may be in compression to post. You'll have to decide.

i agree there's always a but entirely. another thing is that when you label something "fine art," you're putting it up for critical critique and well, eddarr's response of such standings.
your midtones are not as pronounced as one may like, but i honestly think that may be the result of the dynamic range of the subject matter or as said by eddarr, the compression.
the only way to determine a fine art print's success is by putting it into the stream for CWOKs to dissect. that, or by letting yourself be your worst critic and go from there.
personally though, i enjoy the distortion of the shot a lot, but i'm not sure where my eye is intended to be lured.
thanks for posting. :)

My eye is drawn to the falic (SP?) stain on the rock wall. I agree that the mids lack in punch. How does it look printed?

my eye was originally drawn to that as well, but i'm not sure if that was the OP's intention or not or just how the distortion made things out to be.
i'm interested in how it looks printed myself. :)

I like your conversion here, it's well done, but the scene itself doesn't do a whole lot for me (too much "happening" with no clearly defined subject). Just my opinion though.

havent printed it yet, havent decided how i want it to be done... was considering stretched canvas but maybe just matte paper with white mat...
thanks for the detailed opinions - i did want critical critique... if i wanted lots of empty pats on the back i could have just shown it to some friends of mine who arent interested in photography/art ;)
