Two from last year of the prettiest butterfly (imho)

I agree Brian. Peacock wins for me, but RA is still a very pretty butterfly.
Shot one has a couple of things working against it. The butterfly is a bit too small, and it's facing away from the camera. The plant it is on isn't sufficiently attractive to make up for the deficit.
Shot two is much better with the butterfly taking centre stage, albeit a bit TOO central - shave a bit off the left to improve composition - with a nice background. Also, dial in 1/3 stop -ve exposure correction with your photo program to improve saturation and pull back a bit of the blown highlights in the flowers.

Agree about 1 eccles, but for me it was catching him just about to take off.

Have tried several times to process 2 to get less light on the flower, couldn't get anything better with my skills (or lack of!)
