I would like to know if anyone has tried any filters with the G2.
I have used the UV Guard , and Infrared R72 filters so far.

I own a HOYA UV HMC and HOYA Cir. Polariser filter. The polariser does saturates the colours and reduces glare and reflections of surfaces. Worth the investment i think.

Shafique, try searching the forum with keyword "filter". It has been discussed to infinite detail already. :)

I have just bought a Hoya UV-Guard and Hoya Cir-PL filters. I was advise that I can use these two filters together and there should not be any degration to the quality of the picture taken. I was kinda sceptical about this. Please can anyone give me some guidence in relation to this matters?
Thanks,
TJ

TJ:
Generally speaking, the UV and Cir-Pol combo will not degrade your images.
There is a possibility of vignetting, especially at wide angles, if your filter size is small. I use 52mm UV and cir-pol together with no problem.
The bigger concern is lens flare (light reflecting on the glass.) The more glass you have stacked in front of your lens, the higher the likelihood of lens flare. Be careful when shooting in the direction of the sun. Also, use high-quality multi-coated filters to minimize reflections on the glass.
