I've been waiting for my B+H ordered 70-200 2.8L for a couple of weeks now & it finally arrived this afternoon..BUT within a couple of seconds after removing it from it's case I noticed what can only be described as a 'hair' about 3/4" long near the edge under the front glass? I gave it a slight tap to see if it moved unfortunaley without success. I'm not sure whether or not it would have effected images but I didn't even bother to try it out, I packed it back up ready for it's return journey! As I'm in the UK this is a bit of a pain but B+H were fantastic & by the time I had got off the phone to them I had received a conformation email for my replacement order. Hopefully it should be here in a week or so, fingers crossed!

Thats to bad when that happens. I have not dealt with B&H myself yet but have heard lots of good things about them.

Well thats part of the hazards of ordering online and why online retailers must have good customer service. I hope you get your new lense and it is in perfect working order!

By the time VAT & tax were paid (and assuming you'd not had to return it) what do you recon you saved?

John (also in the UK)

The lens was $1060 plus $60 shipping, we don't have VAT here in Guernsey so all I had to pay was £22 import duty - the whole lot came to £590 give or take a few pence. Quite a saving on the UK price if indeed you can find one!?
