HDR Photo Editing...

Has anyone played around with this HDR photo editing yet? I have been looking at it ever since I read about it in Outdoor Photography. It looks amazing. I like how you can use aspects from three different exposures to make brilliant photos.
I'm looking at purchasing the Hydra HDR editor. If you have any experiences or inside knowledge let me know.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
