I just bought an EOS rebel and I can't figure out how to get into the advanced menu mode. I must be in the basic only mode cause I can't get many of the options shown in the manual.

PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP..... I just want to get to the rest of the options on my new killer camera!

First of all, you might want to clarify which camera you have. The Canon EOS Rebel is a film camera, and the Canon EOS Digital Rebel is digital (a.k.a. 300D).

The mode dial shows which exposure mode the camera is going to use. There is a Green Box (fully automatic), some basic modes, and some creative modes. Most of the time, you only get all of the options you want with the creative modes. The Green Box makes it almost like a Point and Shoot camera.

I must agree.....my DRebel has never stuck me in a basic menu mode. In fact, without the hack I was not even aware that this camera had a "basic mode/advanced mode" option to switch between (unless on the preset dial ..i.e: not in creative mode). Did you ask questions when you bought the rebel or did you ask for a Canon rebel and the salesperson just rung you up a film rebel?

Heres a quick answer......how much did you pay? (CDN or US?).

Please reply...I would like to see what the confusion is......

When entering the menus, if the top mode selection dial is set to one of the basic modes, you will get basic menus. Select an advanced mode of P, Tv etc and you will get advanced menus to go with the mode.
