When I sold my 40D I had purchased a Photix wire/wireless remote control set. Can this be used on the G9. Just curious because if it can't I will put it on the site for sale and if it can I will keep it. Thanks guys. The model # is WRC-C8..

You might be interested in the wired remote control available in the G9. Canon seems to be phasing it out of some newer Powershot models, but it still works in the G9. There is also some 3rd party software that greatly expands this capability;

Most people from the DSLR world go to ebay and buy it from the Hong Kong site. I have had good luck with them getting most itmes to me by 7-10 days but shipping sucks.

I was referring to the Remote Shooting feature of the G9, discussed on page 32 of the Software Starter Guide. The hard wire is the USB cable that comes with the G9.

Here's a link on another forum on how one person used it "creatively". Warning if you have dialup, large download of images.
