At the moment i use a 40D with battery grip and a E1 hand strap......but would like to loose the battery grip so it is easier to pack in my bag.
Does anyone know of any plates or conversion kits that lets me do this and maybe have some sort of quick release plate for the monopod.....

lose. - loose is the opposite of tight.

Check the Kirk, And RRS plates I think they both have something to use with the strap. I use one on my 5D works great.

I have this one and it's very good on my 5D, but I adjusted it for the 40d. I use the POTN neckstrap and combine it with this one for all my DSLR's because I really can't hold onto the it all day otherwise.
