EOS 300D Cashback

I bought an EOS 300D on the internet(from Dabs.com) a few weeks ago and have applied to Canon for the £100 cashback.

I'll be grateful if anyone can tell me:

(a) how long payment is likely to take - I'm not desperate for the cash - just curious!

(b) Canon say on their application form that they require sight of the
original receipt; I have only had an online PDF receipt from Dabs -
are Canon likely to accept this?

I submitted my Info online (aka pre-qualify) from the website on the rebate form.

I mailed the 'package' with everything they wanted on 12.01.04 and I JUST checked my status on the following link:

https://www.web-rebates.com/canon/status.asp

Today it says my Info was processed; so it took my info 16 days to go through the mail and be processed; if that helps.....But I don't have the $$ yet.

Thanks for your quick reply tdragone.

I was intrigued to learn that Canon have a customer tracking system for cashback applications.
I filled in my details but was told that they weren't recognised:it occurs to me that this site is for US purchasers whereas I bought in the UK. I tried a search for a similar site over here but nothing came up:I'll phone Canon UK tomorrow and se if that helps.
Were details of the tracking facility shown on the paperwork with your camera?

I think what you're asking by Were details of the tracking facility shown on the paperwork with your camera?is "where do you send the paperwork in to"?
If that is the question; them the answer is no; The mailing address for the rebate was on the PDF I downloaded from canon (Or B+H photo)

I'm in the Uk which I should have made clear at the outset. I now have a phone number for UK cashback queries and I'll phone Canon on Monday. I now understand that payments take about a month.

By coincidence, on checking my bank a/c before phoning Canon I found a mysterious credit of £100 dated 20/12/2004 - this must be IT!:D

I phoned Canon anyway - for some reason the spokeswoman couldn't check that this was the payment ( but it can't have come from anywhere else)- however from my postcode she found that they received my application on the 29th November: she said that payments have been taking 6-9 weeks and they do send out a notification of payment - but some payments were arriving before the letters!

My cashback cheque arrived today, having taken less than 2 weeks from the time I sent the form off :D

Glad to report my cashback cheque arrived today, before I had got around to calling. On conferring with a friend, who bought his 300d the a week before me - we have both waited 4 weeks from purchase.

Can't grumble - great camera, great offer.:lol:

Waiting for my Check now; Canon's website says it was mailed on the 23rd; so it still is taking less than a month to get our $$.

Mine took three weeks from pre-qualify through check mailing. The status site says the check was mailed on 12/23/04. We shall see how long it takes to arrive in the mail.
