Hi,
Is anyone aware of anywhere I can get 5x4 colour negatives printed at large size, preferably in the UK? This is for private use, not commercially. I built a Bender 5x4 camera, and have processed my own b&w, slide and colour negs, and would like a couple of my colour negs printed at about 16x20.
Thanks

you can do it your self! I use poster 7 software you can download it now for $17
This program allows you to print from small photo printer.
I use any photo Epson as they allow up to 44 inches.
I print 65 inch a 44 inch murals with assounding results.
In fact I used a 4 x 5 color postive to print a fantastic 4 x 6 foot mural
The Epson 900 ( not photo 900) is a very good 4 color printer with 4 picoliter drop size and very large cartridges so you can print about a 25 to 30 sq Ft poster.
You shouild be able to pick up a used 900 for about $30

And how do you propose that tomcat862 prints on an inkjet from his large format negative? Sounds more like a marketing post to me.
tomcat862, have a search for a pro photo lab near to you - my local fuji lab can do large negatives.

so how much of a stake in this company do you have?
I'm sure it wouldn't work so well on a negative. Maybe he can just hold it up to the monitor or something?

For the record toooo many photo heads appear too anal retentive for me.
Anyone who checks out poster 7 will see they sell 10,000 downloads a month..it's a fact.....I was impressed with it and yes I do sell items printed using it.
You see way tooo many pinheads who post here are so anal retentive they feel treatened by anything that works and is easy to use. that did not go through photo shop
But for the bulk of you who would like to use a very easy to learn program poster 7 works.
I have printed 13 inch x 29 foot banners for trade shows on the Epson1520. these sell for over $100 and they print out in lesss than 30 minutes. For you pinheads I print in 44 inch long lengths that are taped and seamed...you can not see the seams!
For the brain dead who did not get hoe yo use a small 8 1/2 inch wide photo printer... you print a 44 inch by 8.3 inch section on small photo printers then paste these into a mural...it sure beats paying $100's of dollars.
I pay less than $100 per gallon for dye based USA made ink that is ISO 9001 certified.
I will not reply to more pinheads who know better ....a fool and his money are soon parted as is the fact from midth from the pinheads

My, my, what a useful post. Lots of insults and other marketing gumpf.
However, you still haven't answered the question. i.e. you still haven't given any information on how plewis66 can get his 5x4 colour negatives (these are physical objects, not digital files) printed. Who is the pinhead now ?

Lab 35 (http://www.lab35.co.uk/select_print.html) do prints/enlargements from 5x4 (and everything else). Take a look at the link for prices etc.
I've had years of direct experience with these people and have never had a problem with quality of returned output. I admit i don't use them as often these days now I've gone mainly digital, but I can't believe they have gone massively downhill since last time I used them (just under a year ago for some 120).
Cheers
Ian
