Had a holster I was looking to sell and took a few photos of it (and about a million other things to sell). Which shot do you prefer guys? Comments & criticism appreciated.

If thats the only picture, I would go with the one that shows more of the holster. As long as you have the layout, you may as well throw the weapon in the holster as well, it will draw people to it. Just a thought.

The exposure is fine, you can read the Safariland logo, but a product shot showcases the product...there is nothing recognizable as a product in either of those shots.

I like the BG and exposure looks great, but I agree with pulling back a bit. If I wasn't a shooter I wouldn't know what Safariland is from that pic. Do you have a model that could put on some BDU's and strap that on for a "action" shot maybe drawing the sidearm from it? just my .02

A bit wider would probably work better - these are a bit tight. I wouldn't even know what it was from such a close pic, though you're probably marketing to an audience who would.

Thanks for the feedback guys, have never done product photography before (as if that wasn't obvious).

Yes this image was one of a few used in my advert. The purpose of this shot was to exhibit the Safariland logo. Rutha, good point about the model etc. The minor effort of strapping it up properly and (as others also said) loading it would give extra effect.

I am humbled by your constructive comments.
