wildland firefighting makes for some excellent shots. wish we could have seen some closer up pictures

Unfortunately traffic was snarled due to EMS closing some major roads around the fire and I made it back home as they'd almost knocked down the fire. If I'd worked on getting closer, I probably wouldn't have gotten anything.

If you have to work at getting closer you most likely are in danger. Just what anyone need to do. Get hurt to get a better picture. I like the shots the way they are. Saty safe and keep up the good work. Just stay out of the way.
Remember if you are to "push my buttons" while on a scene you could end up with police issues bracelets.

Thanks for the kind words, and no need to worry, EMS experience in my past. As you say I don't need to endanger EMS to save my but.
While I was taking the shots, someone handed me a card for the City Manager of Community Relations and asked if I could send them some shots. They have asked for permission to use them on the city website, city brochures, the local cable chanel and the local paper.
