View Full Version : Water Series Critique Please

This is a series of photos of water taken at Somersby Falls near Gosford in NSW Australia. I was aiming with these photos to produce images that were almost more real than real, but some of them have ended up leaning towards the abstract.

They were taken with a 10D with a sigma 70-300 macro and a sigma 18-50.

You got it right - they mostly fall into the pattern/abstract catagory.
However, they are nice for what they are.

i particularly like your first one (the pure scribbles) -- that's fantastic! the last one is quite lovely too.

The second and the third shots are more what I was aiming for but the other three are by far my favourites. I've been unable to convince my other half that any of them are better than a friend's shot of some pebbles under the water that was just shot straight down from eye height, and had little value beyond a happy snap or a plain record of what is there.
