Aerial Photography S40

Would it be possible to use the S40 for aerial photography using a LONG usb cable, a laptop, & the remote capture software, you could change the settings of the camera, and view live the LCD screen (on the laptop screen) and take high res photos?

any ideas? does the camera use the 2 power pins on the USB ... eg could you make a cable not using the power pins, and therefore exceeding the 5m limitation?
