a friend of mine has a small battle scene that he made. it is about 7inchx7inches and has probably about 50 or 60 small soldiers fighting in battle lots of detail on the prjoect he did and he wanted to know if could take some pictures of it. i said sure why not. come to find out none of my lenses can get in that tight. i have mostly low end (under 300$) lenses and most of them are telephoto lenses so i obviously don't have the right lenses for this project. and i wanted to know what i kinda of lense i should look for to get some goods shots. i am using a digital rebel.

thanks for the help,
adam

Take whatever standard lens you have and stick on an extension tube. Your lens will have the same focal length, but the minimum focus distance will be reduced.

I assume you would be shooting the scene from an angle, so lighting will be an issue. I would suggest a home-made light tent.

I have only one Canon EF-12, and it works for me, but I can't compare it to any other size.

EF-25 is going to get a little more serious.
