Anyone interested in getting to know their G2 better should go to http://shortcourses.com/bookstore/book.htm. THey have a wonderful little book w/cd about the G2. It's also an excellent sight for digital photography in general. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I found the shortcourses book to be a pile of rubbish. It is absolutely no different in content to the user manual.

Not surprised. They are just trying to steal money from people.

I agree with the negative evaluation of the book. Read your manual again. I read the book again hoping to get something out of it but I don't think I did. It certainly is not on the par of the Green Latern books.
In fairness, if you know VERY little about photography you may get something out of it. If you want to see the manual rewritten you will get something out of it.
I don't think it was worth the money.

Guys........I know a little about photography and even less about my camera and exactly what everything did. The book went into more detail than the manual and was used in conjunction with the manual. For those of us who don't know as much as you guys the book could be helpful. They have a money back GUARANTEE and are not trying to steal money from people. I have no association with them and the book helped me.

I still disagree. I can't remember a single thing in that book that wasn't in the manual. Feel free to prove me wrong, I didn't waste too much time on it once I cottoned on to their source of material.

I do grant that it may be in a more digestible form for outright beginners.

I would recommed that people read the manual provided and spend their money on a more generic photographic guide (digital or other). I recommend the National Geographic field guide/s (try 'em at the library before you buy). YMMV
