Hi all,
After spending a while goofing around with this picture in Photoshop, I've gotten to the point where I feel like I've got something pretty neat...but then again, everybody likes pictures of their own babies, so I was hoping to get some feedback. Thanks!!

Hi Mike,
I like this - the colours seem slightly over pumped though (again, my monitor isn't calibrated) The crop is a big improvement on the original. Nice blur on the wheels.

I like the selective color here. Nice work.

Thanks, Guys! I was going for a vibrant color to make it a little more abstract, but maybe I went a little too far! I think I'll try making the portion of the track in front of the car a little darker, and reduce the saturation on the reds and yellows a bit, then print it out to see what it looks like.

I also like the selective coloring but of course I am one of few who likes selective coloring.

Thanks, Michille. I didn't realize there were so few of us. If I figure out who doesn't like it, I'll take a picture and put a B&W filter on them :)

... reduce the saturation on the reds and yellows a bit, then print it out to see what it looks like. I think just a little in this direction would do the trick. I like the capture very much. Where was the little Lotus running (track/event) in this shot? My Father & I used to attend the SCCA run-offs in the fall each year when they were still being held @ Road Atlanta. That was a blast!

Hi Mark. I shot the car at the SCCA Summit Point National last Sunday. It lead the race green-to-checker and made it look easy all the way.

Sweet. We're tryin' to get the old '73 Datsun 510 ready to drive to Mid-Ohio this year (its been a while since its been on a proper road trip). That'll be a fun trip.

Mark, have fun getting the 510 together for the trip! there were a few 510's (I think) out there the other day. Is this familiar?

Also, getting back to your Cat 7 photo - I think preserving the tire wall detail (which was lost in post) in the background with some selective brightness/contrast treatment would help viewers place the car on the track. Its an element that is immediately identifiable with "racing".

I love the edited picture, I like the vivid colors. I would have left some of the color in the background as well, not B&W. Still nice job.
