When you go to Quick Links, "Who's Online" and scroll over to the end, notice that "Google Spider" (which is not a member name), is cruising throughout the forum.

Does anyone know what that is, and what is it that Google is doing.

Indexing the site for links. That is a common occurrence from any search engine. They are also referred to as spider-bots, bots, or spiders. It's actually a software program that automatically, without human interjection, cruises the Internet, indexing websites.

Kind of, right?

Feels a bit big brother-ish, and i'm not the paranoid type

Can a bot crawl through your computer if your firewall is off (or if its on)?

Same question about a femme-bot? http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
