Hey all,

I'm new to the SLR world of photography. I've only owned a point and shoot digital camera in the past. Now that I have a Digital Rebel I'd like to get some books to read and learn all about photography. I need to start with a pretty basic book (explainations on aperture, ISO, exposure, lenses, etc).

I've done searches on here but I'm still a bit confused. So far I think I'll get the Adobe Photoshop CS Book for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby for the editing aspect.

Books I've come across in searches and am leaning towards are:
John Hedgecoe's New Manual of Photography,
Ansel Adams Guide Basic Techniques Of Photography, and
National Geographic Photography Field Guide (which is unavailable here at the moment).

Can anyone recommend other books? Give me their opinions on these?

Thank you so much..Merry xmas!

Welcome Mr Mega :)

I did a beginners digital photography class at an art school near me, it was great. I'd suggest that you look into that somewhere near you.

That Scott Kelby book's pretty good, I have it. I got a raw workflow book too, which is interesting.
