Here are a few photos from the last couple of weeks, where I have had to contend with rain, fog and the cold

Steve Perez from the Grizedale stages rally in the Lake District

Steve Petch from the Grizedale stages rally in the Lake District (This isn't the same car that Ken posted a photo of a couple of weeks ago although similar)

and caught this happening last week in a Yorkshire forest, this is mid way through the accident

Here is an animated gif of the car in the last photo having his accident, I happened to have the 1DMKII on high speed at the time so stiched the photos together

(It will appear a bit jerky until it is fully loaded)

By the way the driver and navigator in car 50 were not hurt in the accident except maybe for their pride

Excellent work as always, Ian. I particularly like the second one.

What never ceases to amaze me about rally's are all these numpty spectators who loiter on the outside of corners... nutters the lot of them!

Crunch! One broken Gallant!

Its not everyday you get to photograph a car crashing, Im glad you had it on high speed :)

And I really like the one of the Hyundi, very nice photo.

Wow those pictures make me want to shoot a rally even more...... nice shots especially in the gif where you can clearly see the co-driver being thrown forward. Nice work!

The numpty spectator is getting worse (and they all seem to have camera phones now:rolleyes: )

When I shoot at rally's I like to get something good and solid that I can hide behind and also somewhere to run if need be:D

You really should try it if you can, you can get much closer to the action than other forms of motorsport, as for the accident photo the co-driver did have the wind knocked out of him but other than that was fine, it goes to show how strong these cars are

No doubt I'll see you on the 28th, early start and I'll be there 8:30 latest. With a full entry list and 8 stages it looks like it will be a long job.

Nice one of Steve's car by the way, I'll point him to your website.

No kidding!

Great pictures! Is there a strap on the right side rear tire on the crash photo? What is that?

I have zoomed in on the original and it's a lump of stone not a strap.
