...there are so many out there I am simple dumbfounded where to begin.
Here is what I'd like it to have room for:
40D
400D (gf's camera)
24-70mm
70-200mm
10-22mm
17-85mm (gf's camera)
50mm
400mm (wishlist)
1.4TC (wishlist)
Kenko Extension Tubes (3) (wishlist)
580EXII
Batteries
Filters
and some odds n ends
as well as room or a place to put some extra stuff like bottled water and snack bars.
Based on these requirements what would you recommend? My dbay is coming up and I want to ask for a new bag :D
The Slingshots are really interesting me but I have no idea which one to get. I live over an hour from the nearest photography store so going in to look isn't really an option. I have looked through the show me your bag thread and still would like some help.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hey!
Looks like a lot of gear you want to trek along with. I have both the Lowepro Slingshot 100 and just recently picked up the Slingshot 200... I can tell you that the 100 series holds nothing in comparison to the other model.
I also have a nice backpack from a company called f/6.4 (www.f64camerabag.com (http://www.f64camerabag.com/backpacks.html))
I have the large backpack and that has room for the batteries, filters, extra side compartments for odd and ends and snacks.
I fit the following in mine: Mark III, 5D, 70-200mm (must be mounted to one body), 24-70mm, 50mm, 85mm, fisheye, singh ray filters, cokin filter holder, two 580EX speedlights, the CP-E3 battery pack for my flashes, memory card cases, light meter, gray card and that pretty much fills her up to the brim.
13" x 16" x 6" is the interior dimensions for that bag of mine. You have some more lenses so you will want something bigger than what I have. It looks like you will want an extra large backpack or even venture into the rolling bag realm...
Lowepro is great and so is that f/6.4 company...
Tamrac and Think Tank have nice bags as well.

The slingshots are great bags and give you fast access, however as they get bigger, heavier and stuffed with more gear they can begin to pull on the one shoulder its slung over.
You've got quite a bit of gear and I think you'd struggle with the 300. I'd recommend a proper back style, perhaps the LowePro Mini Trekker.
Go to a good photo store, and try out as many as possible before you buy. :)

Ever take a look at the Tamrac Expedition 8? Digital SLR magazine (UK) I think reviewed a bunch of camera bags last month and the Exp 8 took 5 stars... I just recently bought one in the last month and LOVE it! Plus it holds TONS of stuff!

Thank you all. The 400D/17-85 is my gf's camera and would not be in the bag often. The list I gave has some wishlist items that I don't have yet. IE the 400, Kenko tubes and 1.4TC. Keep in might the last thing on the wishlist I'd get would be the 400. So With out that would it still be a tight fit on a 200 Slingshot?
I looked at the mini trekker. I might consider that one as well. Thanks

theres no real room for water and snacks in the slingshot 200 but you could fit the stuff that you have now in a 200 but the pack would be full.

Have you checked out the M-Rock Arches bag? I just received a Slingshot 200 yesterday and need to send it back. It bulges quite a bit when I try to put my gripped XTi w/70-200 f/4 attached. I could put it in sideways but that seems awkward to use. Yes, I've been to the review sites that show how to stuff the bag with twice the gear I own but thenyou really can't use it the way I like. The Arches is sized between the 200 and 300. I have the M-Rock Olympus bag but it is pretty small, thought I'd go with the Slingshot 200 but it really isn't that much bigger. And the quality of the M-Rock is better, more pockets, nicer padding, has side entry to the top portion when you have the bag slung to the front, also has a side pocket that the Slingshot doesn't have. I was pretty bummed when I started comparing the Slingshot to my Olympus. Long story short, should have tried to load my gear into the Slingshot before purchasing. I have a new Arches bag on order, if one of my coworkers doesn't want to buy my Slingshot I'll be sending it back. I agree with the above posts, if you load the sling type bags too heavy it really starts to wear on your shoulders after a couple of hours and they really aren't designed to switch to the other shoulder. This may not be such a big deal with the 300 since it comes with a pretty nice looking waist belt although I have never tried this on.

Thank you all once again. Long story short I have the Sling 200 and it IS too small. So next week I am going in and returning it and getting the Mini Trekker.

I had my Lowepro MiniTrekker on my back for five straight days while in London.
It was packed with everything below minus the 50mm. A very comfortable bag indeed.
