Taken with the 50mm @ f/2.8, ISO400, 1/5000 (Damn! It was bright out!)

Love how the single bloom is in focus! Wish there had been more flowers in that darker space though.nonetheless.I like it;)

Nice capture - time to get that ND filter collection started.... Although, why not ISO 100 or 50 even?

Yeah, I really should've done that...didn't realize it until after the fact... No need to take pictures of flowers at 1/5000... :D

I've NEVER shot with settings that were anything but perfect, nor have I EVER forgotten to change settings from a previous shoot.

...As I am learning, I expect to make mistakes. Maybe someday I'll be at your level. Congratulations for getting there.

It looks like the center flower and parts of the two next to it were in direct sunlight (also a few in the background). I think the color of the shaded flowers is richer. By comparison, the in-focus one looks washed out. Why don't you try to drop the exposure by 1/2 - 1 stop to see what you get?

I'm happy if I get a keeper or two - most of the time I just try to figure out where I went wrong. Thank you for taking my comment as satire- that was the intent. We've all been there- most more than a couple of times!

I've NEVER shot with settings that were anything but perfect, nor have I EVER forgotten to change settings from a previous shoot. Me, too.

My canon has a special position on the dial on 'P' for Perfect Setting. I always set the dial on 'P' and never worry again about settings.

I think your flower shot is beautiful. Central shots don't bother me when the subject is flowers.

No worries...it made me laugh... It's so frustrating to get the settings quite right. There's always something to tweak or adjust...

I think I might put that quote in my signature... :D

And thanks for the comments...what amazes me is that in print, this photo looks so much more incredibly vibrant and purple.

Pete, when the photos are brought to any forum from our computer, they always lose something..I like seeing mine first as a screensaver.if they look like crap.they are gone.lol..

The prsent saturation is about the max saturation point for posting here. If you edit to make the screen appearance resemble the sharpness and saturation of the hard copy, it may not be widely accepted by some of the members.
