1st time out with strobe access, the setup was a little old on the tech side and I have never delt with flash photography before, but the strobes only covered one side of the court so I had a good portion of my time there just playing with them and learning to sync my camera up properly

white balance was my biggest challange...it changed dramatically in different areas of the court because the gym (stadium was being used for graduation) had light from the windows coming in from the top...but didnt cover enough area to help out, just messed me up...I had fun though, not very interesting set (kept missing the good action shots for some reason) so in a sense I failed my goal, but live and learn...

Check out the defenders face in number 5.

Nice pictures, I really like numbers 2 and 6.

Super lighting. What were your settings? The images look pretty clean so I'm guessing ISO 800 or less at 1/250s... and a reasonable aperture, f/5.6 perhaps?

Did you shoot with the strobes direct or did you bounce them?

I'm frustrated shooting basketball in the UK as strobes are frowned upon/banned at most venues - and most of the time I encounter lighting that is, at best, dungeon like! But it's always good to see the good work that can be done with the optimum set-up.

I love #2, the expression you've caught on the players' faces is brilliant.
Very good pics! Well done!
