Fly (id?)

Heres' a few shots of a fly (not sure the species) I found out in my back yard earlier. I was supprised how long he stayed still while I was snapping away!

I'm still getting used to using the new extension tubes. If I'm using a 36mm tube with a 60mm macro lens is that about a 1.5X magnification ratio? What's the formula for figuring out magnification ratios?
