Hi everybody,
i recently went with a great website for gallery hosting called www.photium.com (http://www.photium.com)
it is simply spectacular.
first, your galleries or portfolio isnt surrounded by every type of ad you can think of.
second,Will, the gentleman who owns the site is like a present day Data (star trek ref.) in his efficiency in replying to emails. We're talking under three hours folks, sometimes under an hour.I'm thinking he cloned himself 5 or 6 times.
I dont work for the company,im just a very satisfied customer.
Here's my gallery
http://montrealfilmguy.photium.com/
tell me what you think.
Thanks.

Your note read like a pretty blatant ad, that's perhaps why you didn't get response. But here's some feedback...
It is not spectacular, to mee. It looks like many photo sites, and frankly looks a bit dated. The use of Times fonts is not "in" at the moment, nor is putting everything in square boxes. Soft, easy to read, stylish - that's what is trendy and current. And yes, a site with ads is a mess, but you wouldn't expect ads on a site you're paying for anyway.
Your photos are very nice, my comments are purely on the template.

I used photium when I set up my first website and must say they were great to deal with.
I needed more than what they offer though so have gone and done my own thing.

thanks guys
i tried the basic package,i just havent found out if i can get rid of the boxes
so the test can float, that would be a plus.
say tracknut,i thought there is only a few good fonts for readability on the net,
again im limited by the number of fonts i can use on photium
and if i remember correctly (ill have to check to make sure )
i used courier new (being a screenwriter and all )but i understand it has to do with each computer's default font.
anyways thanks for the comments,i think my photos are nice too.

Yes, that's correct. The issue is there is a quite small list of fonts that are *guaranteed* to be supported on all systems. It's a list of something like 12 fonts, I think - very small. Other fonts are certainly available, but some may be only on Windows, some might be commonly available but only based on downloads, etc, etc. So the common mechanism (which is implemented on your site) is to provide fall-back fonts in a list, such that if the first isn't available, the browser will try the second, third, etc.
