Hi

I just got myself a new printer, the canon pixma ip4000. It's a nice printer, and granted it's not top of the line. anyway I am just wondering what the best pratice is when it comes to printing.

How may of you change the colour space of a photo from RGB to CMYK before printing? and if so how do you adjust for the changes in the colour that result in such a change?

Thanks

Most if not all home inkjet printers are set up to use RGB and it's not really recommended to convert to CMYK first because the printer will just end up converting it back to RGB so that it can print the image. Yes, in the end, the printer does use CMYK for the actual printing but it's not set up to accept CMYK directly.

There have been a lot of useful discussion about printing in this section of the forum. Sorry I can't point you to any particular one but if you read through a few of them, I'm sure you'll find it worthwhile.
