This topic must have been debated somewhere in these forums but I cannot find out where. If it has can you please direct me there, if not can anyone tell me the major differences between the two. I can upgrade to PSE3 for under $100 or use the Adobe offer to new 20 D owners and get PSCS for $299. I have uploaded the trial version of both but only have 30 days to play with them. I'll be visiting the grandkids for the next couple of weeks and don't think I'll get very much time to compare (diaper duty seems to be on a higher priority).
Thanks MUCHin advance & HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

As for me, I don't have CS, never tried CS.... because I've never needed CS. PE3 is quite powerful in it's own right (as you can see from the chart) and does all I can handle and them some. The only reason I think PE3 is looked down on is because it's missing Curves and Masks- but these can be easily added (for free).

I have PSE 3 and just noticed that if you shoot RAW and convert images in 16bit, the program says it has "limited 16bit support" when I tried to do editing work, e.g. red-eye. I'm able to print from the 16bit files but maybe not much else besides crop and resize and play with the exposure, color.
I'm not sure what 16bit support the other program offers if any.

I went from PSE2 to PSCS. I was able to use everything I learned in PSE2 and build on it in PSCS.

I'm 99.9999% sure that's the direction I'm gonna go.
