Which one do you prefer? And what would you do to improve on each of these?

Thanks for your input.

I'd go with the first one. She looks too pale in the second, and the third picture looks a bit oversaturated.

I like #3

one and two are both great but seem a little flat compared to #3

I also like #3. She and the photo are beauties. :)

I like number 1 ...

why:
Because her eyebrows look like a natural color.
The background off the right is pleasing.
Less attention on the grey sweater.

I'd go with #1. Seems more natural to me.

I like number 1 as well. I would suggest changing the color of the frame as the black frame doesn't do it for me agains the black hair in the top left hand portion of the image.

I like 1 too

I agree completely ... #1 is (IMHO) easily the best.

Very nice shot, by the way ... well done.

Thanks for all your input, I will try and take what is good in #1 and #3 and work on combining them. Keeping the skin tone in #1 and maybe leave the details in her hair on the top left but keep the jersey on the lower left the same as #1 and leaving the right side of the photo the same as #1 Will repost when I get a chance :)

Thanks again everyone, you have all been great help.

Best regards,
Ferdinand

I agree that #1 is the best of the three. She seems more natural.

I like #1 - perhaps with a bit less saturation...

Ok everyone thanks for all your input, putting all your input together, here are two more for your opinion, and this time its the cropping of it.

#4 Did I crop too close here?
http://mcauslan.force137.com/misc/vanessa4.jpg

#5 And how about a vertical crop? Is this better? Or there isn't much difference as long as the colour is pleasing.

I don't know ... I like both crops quite a bit, although they each definitely give the image a very unique look. Forced to choose, I like the first one a little better ... it really emphasizes her eyes.

Really like the first crop

Undecided on this one. They both have there perspectives. If I had to choose I would go with #1

Number 1 is best.

Improvements?
Drop the frame.
Unless you really need it there, drop the copyright. At least move it. It's on her face and is a distraction.
Otherwise it looks fine. Composition would be the only other change I'd consider but that calls into question your goal which we don't know.

I too would vote for #1. I like #5 as well but #1 is my favorite, nice photo!

Thanks for the input guys.

Charles I totally respect your work, I love them all as always. Quick question about frame. I find that adding frame brings more to a picture, but I am "cheating" a bit by using a frame to make my photo "look" better. What is your take on frame? I notice you don't use them. Is using them bad? Are they occasion where using them would be a plus? Thanks for all your input.

Best regards,
Ferdinand

Number one with out a doubt. the second photo is to pale and the third one is way to fake looking. she looks like she just stepped out of bold and the beautiful with all of that fake tan and fake lighting. hope that helps.

they are all lovely photos though.

Cheers.

I think number one is best. But out of curiosity since Im a newbie, which adjestments did you make on the first page between the 3 pics? Thanks.

I am in the minority.. I like pic #2 in the original post. I think it looks natural, not pale. Could be monitor issue though.

Also in the crop shots I liked #2 the best. I like the blue shirt strap as a complimentary color.

All of them look great, though!

I'd roll with number one and leave as is.

I like 1... it looks more like a personal photo. The level of saturation in 3 looks quite 'advertise-y'!

I'd have to go with #1 looks very natural I'm sure she'll be very happy with it :)
