I just happened to be browsing and came upon a guy (Hlp) talking about this Xtend-a-View thing ( I dont know how to bring the post to this one but if someone knows how could you please do it for me? Its on page 5.) The Extend a View can be seen at www.photosolve.com .

My question is "Is this thing any good or are there other solutions to not being able to see the LCD in the sun?". Also, my eyesight isn't what it use to be. Will this thing help?

I won't be able to use his attachment idea because I have an A75 which doesn't have a swing out screen.

(2 hours later) I got to searching this subject and also ran across a couple of other accessories like this. www.hoodmanusa.com has a couple of different types and so does www.screen-shade.com . Anyone have any of these?

The biggest complaint I see is people complaining about being able to see the pixels with the magnifier on. I wonder if I would be better off getting one without the magnifier.

I'm glad you asked. I made something inspired by looking at that very add for the Hoodman Hood. I mounted a small magnifying loop on my A70 camera by stringing loops around my lens adapter top and bottom. I use elastic to hold the loops in place. That Hoodman hood looks like a neat idea. Here is a (poor quality webcam) photo of my camera. http://members.shaw.ca/dsschaeffer/camera1.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/dsschaeffer/camera2.jpg
