The public beta for Adobe Camera Raw 2.4 is available.

Among other things, it adds support for the Canon 20D and 1Ds MkII. I've had excellent results with both. You do need to purge your cache in order for the 1Ds MkII .CR2 files to display in the File Browser.

Cheers,

Mitch

I just tried it and ran some thorough tests.
Both image quality and speed are absolutely identical to ACR2.3.
Images viewed even at 400% are identical, right down to the pixel.
Histogram, and colour histograms are identical with both versions.
I ran a speed comparison averaging 3 times with the same image and got the same results.
ACR2.3 = 11.3 seconds
ACR2.4b = 11.3 seconds

Thanks Drisley,

I have the 2.3 version which I use with my 10D and it seems to work just fine. Do you suppose the 2.4b would improve that performance?

Thanks,

Gene

Well, as I said, there is no performance increase when converted 20D raw files.
Here is what I got in one of my many comparisons

ACR2.3 = 11.3 seconds
ACR2.4b = 11.3 seconds
