I finally received my nice Canon 10D. I mounted the BG-ED3 grip with its two batteries.
I attached my 28-to-135 IS lens from my film days. I mounted the 420EX flash unit. And I felt I was in the gym. Heavy, more than 5 lbs in my hands. Also, I thought the grip would make my vertical pictures easier, but the flash gets in the way of a comfortable grip for the left hand. After my first day of wandering around trying it out my right hand was tired.
One other puzzle: when shooting on auto with the 420EX my histograms tend to be squished to the left a significant amount--almost half of the horizontal. Is this a common observation?
