pro/am contest held in a mall here in Cleveland. Great change of venue from the normal dingy (and horribly lit) skateparks these things usually are held in around here. All shot with the MkII and 17-40. Hope you like.

All the crossing lines in number two are great. Only thing I dont like is the dead space at the bottom.

thanks. I particularly like that one for some reason. I wanted to catch that shadow and give some solitude to the image, maybe I overdid it with the bottom. I'll crop it and have a look and see what I think. Again, thanks.

At last some NICE CLEAN PICTURES of BMX riders.
Scott you've proved at point that it can be done.

the second shot is very well composed. I don't think you should crop the bottom, It adds to the photo. Shadow dancing :)

#2 is nice and I wouldn't crop out the bottom.

thanks to you and Ben. Funny, shadow dancing is exactly how my bud described it as well. I think that's my fav of the day.

Scott, number 2 rules!

thanks, that is a HUGE compliment given the the bmx stuff you have put out. I know you weren't (aren't) overly enamored with RIDE but I was thinking of sending this one in. Worth it?

Lookin' good Scott. I like # 2 too but I think I would crop just a little off the top and bottom. BMX is one thing I have never shot.

shooting bmx isn't that unlike anything else in that it hugely helps to ride yourself or be close enough to the sport to really know it. the other difference is that the lighting is usually so bad as to make youth hockey rinks seem like NBA lit arenas.

Hey Scott,

Although it's a great shot, they're unlikely to print an image without a story to go with it. It might be worth dropping the editor (PM me for details) an email, introduce yourself, show the pic and see if they may be interested in an article....they could do with some more flatland stuff fetured.

Cheers

Dean

#2 - someone mentioned dead space. it follows pretty much the golden curve rule of composition, so for me it's the standout shot from the lot. absolutely quality work, get that badboy framed laaaarge!!!nice one!

thanks Dean, pm coming your way shortly as there actually is a cool story to go with this. Who knows?

Scot, haven't seen much of Chad recently but I don't think he's been too into the comp thing. Love his style though, more like street/flatland than just flat. He kills it for sure.

thanks bud and you too Casp. Funny how every once in a while you get that one shot that really works. I'm stoked so many here have liked that one.
