Awesome, thank you. Have you had any issues with it since applying and have you seen the appropriate changes listed?

My original post was about the 1D & 1Ds firmware updates. I then saw that the 1Ds firmware update was posted on this board a few days ago. I wanted to change the Title line after editing the body of the post to better reflect the information in the post. It seems that you can't edit the Title line of the post. Is this so or am I missing something? I find editing the Title line especially helpful in the Marketplace Forum. After an item is sold you can edit the Title line to reflect the current status of the item.
Cheers,
Rob

You have to be a moderator to do that (I am on other boards, which is how I know this)

Each time a new fw is posted I've an heart attack .... and when the progress bar run I've really palpitations... (hoping battery stay up until end)

Adds WiFi transmitter capabilities. You have applied the firmware and has been ok with it, I was wondering if it has really sped up the camera that much. I had no complaints with the startup time, and since I do use the AI Servo, I am interested in knowing if the performance is noticeably better. I am intrigued by the wifi, but not sure if I will use that functionality. Card readers still faster, and I do not want to carry anything else out in the field on top of the gear I carry - no laptops, please.

Thanks

It installs just fine. I downloaded and immediately installed it. Went off without a hitch. Startup time was fast before. Now it's as near instant as it can get. I can hardly wait to test the low-light AF!

By the time you switch to the' audio on' position, its up and running, very impressed. I'm shooting a rally next week and it should be a good test as it starts in poor light and ends in darkness. Watch the new Sports forum for example pictures.

Kenny: Yeah, keep us informed there on the results. Pop over to the pro forum too. I don't think anything's running in my neck of the woods for the next two weeks with the holidays and such going on. I do have a motocross track I'm going to see if there's any activity.

This is a truly exciting firmware upgrade!

I have updated mine as well. The speed is great on the start up, but I have not tested out anthhing else. I am planning on getting some snow photos today, as we are scheduled to get upwards of 12 to 18 inches. Gonna make for a great white christmas.

Tuesday should be a good test. Tony has updated his as well, so that's three of us shooting fast cars in poor light. I think warm clothing and hot drinks might just have the edge over faster AI Servo for me. :D

I was just putzing around the house shooting in low light in P mode and it's significantly better. AI Servo low-light ought to rock!

Very good update. It's like reprogramming the chip in your car and getting more horsepower...
Turns on pretty darned quick too.

Absolutely GenEOS! Of the D60, 10D, 20D and MKII this is the coolest firmware upgrade to date. A very nice Christmas present from Canon.

A nice present indeed, I'll be shooting Track Cycling World Cup here in Manchester from 7th to 9th of January, will definitely test it out. :D

Well, I'm headed to Florida tomorrow, so I might get the chance to shoot slow cars in good light. I'll report my results. :)
