I see there's already a couple of threads from this one. Those damn POTN members get everywhere these days...

We got a lovely sunny day which looked like Summer from inside the car. Then i got out to be faced with the usual freezing wind that goes with anything remotely near the River Tees.

1. There's some determination in those eyes..

2. The bigger machines are frighteningly fast. 1 major plus point is that they throw so much water out of the back, you don't need to worry about backgrounds..hah !

3. They may be smaller but they're just as competetive..

4. I did my best to get some "racing" shots as opposed to single shots..here's one of a select few..

5. Almost completely out of the water..

6. The Freestylers were completely mad. You know this had to hurt..
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/geoff.hubbert/Pics/Images2008/JSRA/JSRA-0691.jpg

7. I thought these things were meant to go IN the water ?
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/geoff.hubbert/Pics/Images2008/JSRA/JSRA-0845.jpg

8. Bonkers !

For those who like to know these things 1, 7 & 8 were on the 1DMK2N & Sigma 120-300. All the others were with the Sigma 500 f4.5 EX...which i am extremely happy with.

Thanks for looking. Rabbit away as you wish.

#6 he was trying to fit one last trick in before the end of his routine, i was surprised he tried that as he had not jumped of a wake and boat 181 must have been good for pics as i got a few crackers of him too

think i might sell the canon lens and take a trip to RGB for a sigma :) some very beautiful and very clear pictures #3 is a friends son just about to start his teenage years.....

lol, #6 is a crackup

jetski photos are fun, because you can go fast shutter and quite easily snap off great shots or drag the shutter a little and do some pans..

Good set of pictures, is it normal practice to use your head to slow you down as on the sixth?......:)

Just replied to Simon's thread... these are also quality, good stuff Geoff! #5 stands out for me, like the way you can see his route. Also the "racing" shots are good... as discussed around here recently it's good to actually show the "racing" every now and then :)

It keeps me off the streets Ian :D. I might be at Croft on Friday too if there's a pre-weekend test for the Support races.

The strange thing about the bigger Jet Skis is the amount of spray tends to hide any of the chasing pack so the smaller machines are best for racing shots. As i've only shot these once before i'm very happy how these turned out :)

Thanks (again) for the comments.
