I acquired an EF-S 60mm lens this week, and have been trying to do something creative besides flower shots.
I would welcome suggestions for improvement/subjects. Thanks.

um... lipstick? anyway, it looks like you may have used a tad too much of a warming filter (either that or your shooting surface is just really orange), and it looks slightly OOF, and i would try and get all of the green lipstick in and eliminate some of the dead space up top... i like were you were going with this, though. someone who knows more about using a flash than i do could also help you out.

Thanks for the comments. Actually, I had this setup on a white background, then poured some cold coffee in a tray and set the lipstick in there, thus the orange/brown bg.
Focus wasn't right on, I didn't bother to set up the tripod.

The cropping of the green one really bothers me. It needs to be in the frame like the others.

There was a hair or something on the green one that bugged me, so I cropped it out.

ya, avoid the cropping, otherwise interesting shot! Got photoshop? Clone that bad boy out!

Yup, easy enough to clone that hair out. Uncropped version looks much nicer.
