Here's the before and after. Any and all feedback appreciated. Especially regarding the tone of the main boat.

Probably just me, but I really like the first shot much better.it evokes a mood.

I'm with Flo. I tend to like warmer photos better, anyway, but the lighting feels much truer to me in the first one. Nice composition, btw.

The sky really was more vivid and darker than it appears in the first photo. I really think the sky is much more accurate in the 2nd. I think the hue in the boat is what's setting the mood of the pictures, and will try to work with that some more. I'm still not quite happy with it in the 2nd as it looks a little off to me. Thanks for the comments.

Here's my latest after some light gradient layers on the boat. Please let me know how I did.

Six of one, a half dozen of the other. My big question is what's lighting up the stern of the vessel? It seems a little incongruous to me, given that the camera is pointing to the setting sun. Two light sources.

Yes, there was a street lamp just off the stern (to my right of the shot). So I'm trying to correct for tungsten lighting on the boat while the rest is natural light. The sun was actually already down for at least an hour. We had dinner after sunset, then I took this on our walk back to the hotel. While the first 2 people liked the original shot more, the latter pics are much closer to how the sky really appeared. I guess another question is what shots do or don't look believable, and why? My goal is to have this looking natural, not overdone.

I like the first one best. The first edit really takes away from the mood of the scene, the second edit seems to flatten everything.
