Great shots. I especially like the angle at which you've taken #1, although I think I would have been tempted to darken and blur the shot above the white wall, and clone out the cigarette butt under the rider's knee.

Excellently shot series. How much did you crop the closeup of Craig Jones?
The 300, f2.8 IS is the next lens on my shopping list :).

Thanks Ken, as you see is quite a big crop out of original below, the quality has held up well. The 300mm has been amazing, best lens I have ever owned. Better than the Nikon version especially with TC's which I had before switching to Canon:)

Thanks for the crop info Nick. I shoot a bit of motor sport and also want to do some air shows, I've used my trusty 100-400L at the moment and although I'm quite pleased with the results, the 300L 2.8, plus the x1.4 & x2.0 converter really is what I'm after.
You've helped me make my mind up :-)

hi danny i wentto donni took me camara as was on scouting mission as going back for gp. I was a spectator so fences and distance from track are an issue .
I found foggy esses, in field of red gate, also in field at bottom of craner curves were best spots as n fencing in the way. You will need at least a 300mm lens .
I was using a 28-135 and just could not get close enough but i was happy that i was able to practice panning shots .
Cheers shane

The 300 2.8 is an awesome lens and works excellently with a 1.4 or 2 x converter on  Get one bought, life is too short.
