This was taken by a point and shoot, on shutter speed of 1 sec. This was handheld. Any comments welcome. thanks. Please click image for bigger one. I am still figuring out how to get the bigger image in posts. Thanks everyone!

Is it possible to take several shots on a tripod and process as High Dynamic Range (HDR)? I would assume that this is just as easily done with a P & S as it is with a dSLR, but I'm not sure. There might be a problem if you cannot adjust the exposure over a range of 2 - 4 f-stops while keeping the aperture setting constant.

This scene seems to be blowing out the highlights in the fountain and in the night lights while losing the detail in the shadows.

There seems to be a greater range of tones here than can be captured with a single frame due to the unusual lighting and time of day.

I also think that there is a little too much of the foreground.
