I have a G9 and I am wanting to improve my shots. I went to Texas for some training and took some pics there. Please let me know what I can do different.
I usually shoot on P and adjust the exposure in Adobe later if I need to.

I love the color and the detail in the first shot... On the second one, the man looks a litle OOF. Maybe it's my screen...
great work!

The angle of the first doesn't seem right to me..perhaps a crop of the foreground would also bring the building closer.....
Second is a nice snap;)

I agree, Flo... if you cropped it to get the building on the left out, it would greatly improve things...
Hope you don't mind...I saw you didn't have image editing on, but since you're new, I didn't know if you even knew about it (I didn't at first...)
Here's my whack at it:
(Just cropped and took the white building down a bit...real quick, just to give you an idea...)

Editing is fine. The "man" in the second pic is me with my rental.

Was the picture of the building over-exposed a bit? The colors look a little more vibrant in the picture that you cropped.

Yeah, I know... but I wasn't aware of that when I first joined, so I figured I'd let cuzfu tell me if it was a problem...
Cuzfu...to answer your question, yes, I think the white building was overexposed (not the rest, I just think the saturation was a little low), and more could have been done to fix it, but I just did a quick mask of it. I also messed with the levels a bit to get the reddish building to 'pop.' Just my $0.02...i'm a newb as well ;)
I think it's a cool-looking picture...maybe at a different time of day, that white building wouldn't be quite so overexposed...
