What do you think?

Thanks!

I think it tells a great story...and is a wonderful picture. Two things I'd do:

1.) Adjust the crop to move the horizon to be in accordance with the rule of thirds
2.) Darken the rock in the background

Other than the slight adjustments, I think it's a great mood picture.

Hope you don't mind, I took the liberty to show you what I mean. If it's a problem, I'll remove the edit...

I'm not saying whether this is a good thing or a bad thing but what keeps drawing my eye is those rocks that are stacked in the foreground! LOL!!! My eye wanders around the shot and keeps coming right back to those stacked rocks. Like I said, I'm not sure that's really a bad thing but I'm not sure it was intended as the central subject matter.

Other than that I agree with Pete about the horizon with one additional detail...it's not too noticeable on the original shot but in Pete's edit, the horizon looks tilted. Maybe that's why the rocks in the foreground are stacked...keeps them from sliding off the picture? LOL!!! Sorry....

Peace,
Jim

Thanks a lot Pete. I like your edit much more. there was too much empty sky on top.

Thanks Jim!
You are right. Those rocks do the same effect to me. They were all over the place. I guess some kids were playing... And I could't go around kicking all the rocks before taking the shot... :D
Anyway these rocks spoil the dramatic effect...

No problem... Glad you like!

Man, this picture makes me want to leave work and just sit and chill somewhere...

I agree, sort of. My eyes keep being directed to the rock island which I find boring. Couple on the bench is great but you wonder why they are staring at that boring island.

I'm sure it's the water they are enjoying, but the photo does not show that.

Darkened island, cropped, removed rock towers (colors came up when converted to sRGB not because I saturated them):

Not too sure that that island is boring. It is actually quite dramatic.
Here another shot of the island, from the sea side, and below the 100% crop of the tower:

I have been guilty of this on MANY occasions, but the second image is very oversharpened.

You are absolutely right. I was still playing with it, but then I couldn't resist showing the picture. Every small island with an ancient tower deserves a quick defense! :D
