Yea, been playing around with IR some more! The scene of this old tree fallen into the Potomac River kind of struck me, not sure why. Anyway, after messing with the processing I thought this was interesting, hope you like it!

Every picture you post nudges me slightly more toward investing in one of those filters.
Looks great!

Just my opinion but I think IR looks best when it is different but not so strange to the viewer. I PP my images so when viewed you know they're not a normal shot but you need to look to see why. For this reason I usually swap the R&B channels at the start of PP. On your pic this gives a semi-normal scene with light trees in the background and the branch really stands out from the water.

I like the scene and comp for me though it would look better in B&W.

I love it, great capture with IR. Cobra351, do you live in the northern VA region? If so, I'm pretty close by, living near Dullas International

the tone is great and while i'm a big B&W enthusiast, i do not think this shot would carry over into B&W nearly as well as it was with this conversion. excellent IR capture. i have a powershot pro1 modified for IR, but my filter choice for the modification a bit more specialized (830nm).

it seems that a lot of north virginian photographers frequent POTN.

i guess it's a small word afterall.

thanks for posting! :)

Great in it's strangeness - worth to print big and hang.

Definately a cool shot. was it worth the switch to IR though? Is it easy to switch back? I like how you have a gun in your sig :) just incase someone wants to jack your gear

First, thanks! To me yes, it was quite worth it to convert this camera to IR only. The company can easily convert it back, yes. And about my gear, ha, actually we just have some really large, dangerously aggressive chipmunks around here...:eek:
