I posted this in the Compact Cameras section but didn't get much of a response so I'll try it here. Has anyone had any experience with screen hoods? Trying to take pics in the snow during bright days it's almost impossible to see anything on my A75's screen. I also like the idea that some of these have 2x magnifiers on them and they claim they can also help keep the camera steady by holding the hood against my eye.
Here are a few places that distribute them:

Why make things hard on yourself? Use the viewfinder & save the screen just for the histogram (if you have one on the A75). Light comng into the back of some viewfinders affect the exposure & your eye will block that if yours is one of them.

Use the viewfinder
Because the viewfinder only covers about 75% of what the lens sees, and its off center, enough that if your composing something that is within about 5ft of the lens what you see in the viewfinder, and what the lens see's can be quite differnt.
Its actualy impossible to take Macro shots with the viewfinder.
I only use mine in very bad light, when Im drunk, or taking action shots.
I believe there is a thread in the P&S forum that got a very good reply.

I understood the problem to be "Trying to take pics in the snow during bright days", so that's what my answer referenced. Based on what Moppie said, I'd upgrade the answer to "Get a 300D".

eh, sorry I missed that bit, to much work and not enough play makes Moppie a bad reader.
And a 300d would solve a lot of problems!
