I just had to share the news with people who really understand my excitement! I also have a 10D and have really enjoyed it but needed a second body and opted to get the 20D as well. I just shot a couple of pictures with it and then used the 10D to do the exact same shots with the same lense. For those who may be interested, in my initial observation, the 20D photos seem to be sharper and the camera is definitely quicker. It also feels a bit lighter which I personally like being a woman and all :-) Okay, off to play some more. Merry Christmas all!!!

Congrats TerriJo! You'll love it. My wife also enjoys the just slightly smaller footprint of the 20D. It really fits her hands much better than the 10D.

I've been meaning to ask you, how often do you find yourself using the 20D

Me? Rarely. At this point of the year we don't shoot too much anyway. It's my wife's camera and I am way more at home with the MKII. The 10D will be my second camera next season.

I've been going over my head how logical it would be to buy a second body sometime next year. I have a feeling my money would be much better spent on glass...or school (although financial aid is a very neat thing  )

You Go Girl!
I just got a new EOS-1ds Mark II. My only comparison is a 5 MP Olympus, with the lens built-in. I think they call those "Prosumer" cameras.
Have fun with the 20D, and let us see some of your masterpieces!

WOW. A new 1DS Mark II <drool, slobber, sniff, cry, wine, plead> Guess I'll have to make do for a while with my 10D. My wife doesn't share my obsession.

I just got this camera as well...and all I can say is WOW! Mentioned in an earlier post I read two books before i got the camera ..one on digital slr's & the other a magic lantern guide for the eos 20d! I went from P/S to this camera and although I have a lot to learn! I am getting some of the best images I have personally ever seen and printed! I also figured out a couple of quick fixes for my images in the adobe photshop software, and it was one of those duhhhh moments for me...but I realized you have an endless number of choices of how to change your images. So instead of worrying about every little thing of how to take a picture...I just take the picture (which i am already getting much better) to the best of my ability, knowing the software can assist me as well. I also havent really had any focusing problems. If anything, this camera focuses better then I can with my own "eyes". I like that you can change the focus points to best fit where you think focus should be or use the mutiple focus points. This camera is going to be my little obsession for quite some time!
